Courses follow the FIPSAS/CMAS (where FIPSAS stands for Federazione Italiana Pesca Sportiva e Attivitą Subacquee - Sport Fishing and Underwater Activity Federation) teaching method based on psychophysical training of students: therefore not only technical competence but the pursuit of a natural and undisturbed condition during diving.
Courses organised go from CMAS level 1 to CMAS level 3:
CMAS level 1: this first course is designed to qualify candidates to guided day diving within decompression limits to a maximum depth of 18m. It equals an Open Water Diver course with a few notes on BLS (Basic Life Support). Minimum age: 14 years.
CMAS level 2: this course is designed to qualify candidates to night and deep buddy diving within decompression limits to a maximum depth of 30 m. Includes a CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) course. Minimum age: 15 years. Candidates must have minimum 10 dives, logged and verified on the federal diving booklet.
CMAS level 3: the course provides the knowledge expected from an experienced and responsible scuba diver. Introduces to the instructor carrier. Minimum age: 16 years. Candidates must have minimum 30 verified dives in the last two years.
FIPSAS/CMAS certificates are internationally recognised.
The CMAS certificate is earned after having successfully passed a written exam, a proficiency test and after having completed the dives listed by the regulations.
Prerequisite for entering the course is a medical certificate clearing the holder as fit.
