Salina is an island in the Aeolian Archipelago, located approximately forty kilometres from Sicily and listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site in 2000.
Formed of six ancient volcanoes, Salina presents the highest peaks in the Aeolian Islands: the mounts Fossa delle Felci (961m) and Monte dei Porri (860m).
Besides unforgettable trekking, these peaks offer the most beautiful landscape of the entire archipelago, especially at sunset: As a matter of fact, Salina is right in the middle of the Aeolian Islands making it ideal for those wanting to visit, even if for one day only, the various islands. For what regards the coast, Salina has some unforgettable beaches among which Pollara, highlighted as one of the most beautiful beaches of Italy, as well as, thanks to its volcanic origin, a very vary and rugged coastline, with breathtaking reefs and landslides that sink into the crystal clear sea, well known for the variety of marine species.
Good Malvasia wine, excellent food and small towns, today known everywhere for their heart-warming hospitality, melt together with the beauty of the place, making it unique and unforgettable. It is not by chance that every month of May, Salina becomes a slow island...
